CRUSADER DEDICATION 1965 This tribute is appropriately titled, for its subject has generously given a portion of his life to this, our college. A man of many dimensions, he has long served the students and college actively and faith- fully within his department, as well as in a variety of other capacities. As a person he has shown great understanding and concern for all who need his assistance. In the minds of those who have had the privilege to know him well, there is but one word which describes what he represents to us — that word is friend. Sincerity, straightforwardness, and a genuine gen- erosity enriched with a refreshing sense of humor lend depth to his character. Because of your outstanding service as Business Manager and for your many contributions to Mis- sissippi Baptists and the William Carey family, this 1965 CRUSADER is dedicated to you— Mr. J. D. Sims.

PRESroENTS MESSAGE A TRIUMPHANT DAY The emphasis of the 1964-65 session at William Carey College has not been on the past. This year we have not given particular prominence to the history and tradi- tions of the college. Neither has emphasis centered on the future. Atten- tion is being given to long-range plans and promotions but these have not had first place in our thinking. In the 1964-65 session the emphasis at William Carey College has been on the present tense. We have been taking stock of where we now stand. Our concern is with seven hundred young jjeople who are now being guided by fifty-one faculty members and more than a dozen staff members. Perhaps in former years we have failed to balance our emphasis upon the past and the future with what is happening now. Our concern for the Carey family in 1965 is for a triumphant today, as well as for a settled yesterday and a sure tomorrow. Could we put it this way? We at Carey College are hving moment by moment at the end of our rope in a conscious dependence upon God. The 1965 Crusade r is a record of this present venture of faith.
