IN MEMORIAM RUTH MEEK SANDERS On November 28, 1961, William Carey College lost a dedicated, capable, and beloved faculty member. On that day, Ruth Meek Sanders, Associate Professor of Social Science, departed this life. Mrs. Sanders had joined the faculty in September, 1956. Since that time, she had taught various courses in history, sociology, and Latin. Hundreds of Carey students had been taught, encouraged, and inspired by this devoted woman. Her teaching career included teaching in public and private schools in Ken- tucky, Ohio, and Illinois. She taught also at Wesleyan College and Senior High, Owensboro, Kentucky, for twenty-four years. She is still remembered and loved at that school and by her former students everywhere. We will long mourn the loss of this fine teacher. 23
