A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT William Carey College has attempt-ed to awaken wif-hin each of you intellectual and spiritual powers which, in John Stuart Mills ' telling words, will moke you capa- ble and cultivated human beings. Some of you are now entering upon a chosen career. It is my hope that you may bring to this career the greatest possible assets of in- telligence, resourcefulness, judgment and character . The Carey student excels in motivation. Great purposes challenge the best from the Carey graduate who is not only a careful student but a dedicated Christian. I am delighted to see you, our present students, adopt personally the motto of William Carey Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God. The 1959-60 session has been quite successful . It is my wish that the I960 Crusader will keep alive in your memo- ries the many happy and profitable ex- periences you enjoyed on the William Carey College campus. J . Ralph Noonkester
