to The Students of William Carey College 1954-55 r Just beyond any contemporary frontier stretches another with a greater challenge in scope and a great- er demand on faith and courage. Our forefathers, with ax and giin, felled trees in a trackless forest, built a cabin for wife and children, and pushed the forest back beyond the field and garden. There clustered with them into a community of neigh- bors a few like-minded adventurers. They stood to- gether against the forces of nature and builded our great country bounded by the seas. Our forefathers found their security in loyalty to matters of mutual interest. The forest boundaries today are gone. There is no geographic frontier. It has receded into the realm of mind and spirit. This realm of mind and spirit is our frontier. A moral wilderness confronts us. New trail blazers are needed. They are required to have a sense of moral direction, with a conviction of abiding values. Their intellect must be organized like to the cosmic order and able to successfully grapple with the entire scheme of things. Only he whose mind is in the mind of God will prove sufficient. Will You? I dare you! 1. E. Rouse
