OFFICERS Patsy Colbert, Reporter, Tommy Guthrie, Recreational Chairman, Rodney Griffith, Treasurer, Glenda Shutt, Pro- gram Chairman, Don Carwile, President, Randy Minix, Vice-Presidentg Shirley Joy, Secretary, Dee Dee Lusardi, Historiang Mrs. Mary Maddox, Sponsor. The William Campbell High School Stu- dents Cooperative Association is affiliated with the Lynchburg District S.C.A. and the State S.C .A. both of which meet annually. The membership includes all high school stu- dents from grade eight through twelve and holds its m e eting s monthly in the school gymnasium. The S.C.A. projectsvary from year to year but are designed to promote better citizenship,'to recognize scholarship to promote greater imderstanding betweei. student and faculty, to provide for exchange of ideas among schools, and to secure good school publicity. Mr. Edwin Temples awards a Selnio to Cynthia Burch for being high salesman in the magazine drive. Cynthia, who also receiveda camera, sold 349.00 worth of magazines. N 68

SECOND ROW: Beth Herndon, Chris Holt, Dexter Lee, Glenn Smith, Kenny Lawhorne, Bruce Holt, Fred Harrison, Barry Elder, Cheryl Carwile. The Student Council is' a representative body ofthe S.C.A. composed of representatives from each homeroom and the officers of the S.C,A. The body meets monthly to plan the ac- tivities of the S.C.A. They were sponsored by the S.C.A. and appeared on the show four times being defeated on December 26th by Staunton River High School. but are designed to promote better citizenship, to recognize scholarship, to promote greater understanding between students and faculty, to provide for exchange of ideas among schools, and to secure good school publicity. :L ff Kitty Arrowood, who was in charge of the S.C.A. Christ- mas boxes, is shown arranging the boxes which were distributed to needy families in the community.
