AWARDS IN ATHLETICS ........ 1957-1958 w SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD CAMPBELL HIGH CAGE TEAM GETS SPORTS TROPHY Presentation of a sportsmanship trophy to William Campbell High School basketball team highlighted last evening's dinner meeting of Lynchburg Civitan Club at Howard Johnson Restaurant. J. E. Strickler, school principal, accepted the trophy on behalf of the team. Coach Ed Kell and Carroll Shotwell, t e am captain, also attended the affair. The club started awarding the trophy in 1954 to the team in Group II, District IV, basketball that displayed outstanding courtesy to basket- ball officials and who s e coach, cheering section, spectators, and players displayed admirable conduct bothbefore a.nd after games. The trophy revolves among Group H teams.
