HMISSESM FROM W.C.H.S. - MAY DAY JOAN PUCKETTE LONA JEAN ASHER LINDA MAE FORE MISS SOUTHSIDE ELECTRIC MISS BROOKNEAL MISS BABE RUTH LEAGUE Left: Joan, a junior, was crowned MISS SOUTHSIDE ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE on Sept. 9, 1958, in Crewe, Va. She received a S300 award. She placed sixth in the MAID OF VIRGINIA contest on Oct. 10. Center: Lona Jean, a senior at W.C.H.S., won the title of MISS BROOKNEALU in the annual beauty and talent contest sponsored by the Brookneal Junior Womanls Club on Aug. 15, 1958, and then repre- sented Brookneal in the Tobacco Festival in Richmond Oct. 21-26. Right: Linda, a sophomore, was crowned MISS BABE RUTH LEAGUE, 1958 , and was presented a loving cup after winning the contest held at the Brookneal Ball Park on Friday night, July 16. The Physical Education Classes under the direction of Mrs. Elliott presented a program of dances around the world. Mrs. Guthrie and Ed Davis had charge of the music. 72
