Anyone who is interested in the teaching profession is eligible for membership in the Future Teachers Club. The main purpose of the club is to give students an opportunity to learn what the teaching profession has to offer. They visited a teacher's college one week-end. Left: Mrs. Myrtle Straw, Mary Holland, Emily Jennings, Gerry Jenks, JoAnn George, and Gail Jenks chat after the meeting on January 1. Mary, Emily, and Gerry, all for- mer members of the club, gave talks to the club members. Mary, who is a teacher, told about some of her experiences in her first year of teaching. Emily, a sophomore at Westhampton College, gave some advice on preparing for college and what to expect when one enters college. Gerry, a senior at Mary Washington College who has just done her practice teaching, told of her experiences in practice teaching. 66
