The aim of the Choral Club is to provide an opportunity for the students to grow with music, to enjoy and appreciate a number of songs which are generally well-known and loved, and to improve tone quality and diction. The Choral Club has sung for the Brookneal Woman's Club, the district meeting of the Home Demonstration Club, P.T.A., assembly programs, and commencement. Students who have had Latin or who are studying Latin must have an average of 85 to be eligible for the Latin Club. They try to convey to students that Latin is the mother of languages. BANQUE T - TOURNAMENT The annual Latin Banquet was given in May, 1958, at the Brookneal Hotel. The members who attended wore the traditional Roman costumes which they had designed. Anne Johnston, Anne Organ, Linda Fore, Polly McDowell Cpictured bottom leftj provided entertainment with a Roman Dance. Polly McDowell, president, Cright, top picturel led the club in a toast to the Romans. On April 19, 1958, the Latin Tournament was held at Randolph-Macon Woman's College. Those who entered the contest from William Campbell were: Ann John- ston, Jimmy Evans, Bonnie Morrison, Steve Elder, Linda Fore, Franklin Reynolds, and Nancy Suddith. 60
