BUSINESS MATHEMATICS pi ,A MR. GEORGE GOODMAN'S TYPING CLASS Typing is one of the four commercial subjects taught at William Campbell. There are forty- six students enrolled in first year typing, twenty in second year typing, twelve in bookkeeping, thirty-nine in General Business, and eleven in shorthand. Mr. Goodman instructs these classes. Mrs. Pauline Marshall teaches two classes of Geometry with an enrollment of forty-three students. She also teaches two classes of Algebra 10 and one class of Algebra 9. Mrs. Straw and Mr. Riddle teach a class in Algebra 9. MRS. PAULINE MARSHALIJS GEOMETRY CLASS 44

LANGUAGES MRS. ELSIE PAYNE GUTHR.IE'S LATIN CLASS In Latin classes, the students try to develop an appreciation for the Romans whose lan- guage they are studying. They sing songs in Latin, make posters and discuss the part that Romans have played in modern advertisement. In the other foreign language class, Spanish II, they spent the first semester in thorough review of all grammar and also in translation of selections dealing with the geography, life, and customs of the people. During the second semester, composition, conversation, and parallel reading of Spanish short stories were the main emphasis. MR. BOBBY GENE PRATT'S SPANISH CLASS 43

SCIENCE MRS. ARLINE WHlTLOW'S BIOLOGY CLASS There are two classes of eighth grade Science with the study of astronomy being the main topic of study. The two classes of ninth grade Science study the subject in general. Biology is taught three periods and they study all forms of life from microscopic life to the human torso. Chemistry is taught one period withfourteen members enrolled.
