When the fearsome shadow of a senior darkened the floor, we shrank meekly away. Our days passed quickly and we moved smoothly into our sophomore year. Gaining con- fidence, we suddenly found ourselves criticizing and remembered well our parents saying, Don ' t let it get you down, these are the happiest days of your life. Suddenly, we were upper classmen and our strut became more marked. We at last began to grow up-we started to look around, to question, and to become more aware of ourselves. Finally, the day was here— we became Seniors. It was hard to believe that we had arrived . Our year was filled with occassions and how true it is that those were the happiest days of our lives. June 5, 197 Jf- We are seized with a sort of frenzy. Four years had been spent in preparation for this hour. What is in store for us? As the roll of parchment in our hands begins to dampen with our nervous anticipation, we think that we have left something behind us. Perhaps there is still time-but, no, our passport to a new beginning is in our possession, and the door behind is closing on the old beginnings. We had come a long way, but we will start on a much longer and harder one. We no longer have the spirit of our school to guide us. Already the door ahead is opening. As we go forward we carry only our memories as a picture of what we have left behind. These memories, welded together, form our school years of which the only tangible evi- dence is our annuals. So, having donned our caps and gowns, and having kissed our lockers farewell, we hereby present ourselves, plus our diplomas to the world— and hope it ' s glad to receive us. sm Siimst J B A •- % A H N A m M 3 N K E R r M. §f 4 f ' . I waiit to thank each and every member for their contri- butions. All of their talents combined, have made the best book yet. I ivould also like to wish the best of luck to next year ' s staff, although I don ' t see how there could be a better year than 197 . PHOTOGRAPHERS: J. Sadowsky, T. Lambing, J. Paloncy . . . our three stooges. They spent many long hours in the dark room, doing what, we ' ll never know. They added a little mystery to the staff, Now you see them, now you don ' t. SPORTS: B. Shultz, J. Campbell Barb and Judy knew where the action could be found. Barb, besides being one of our top photographers, spent many long hours finding out where the boys are! Judy took care of the locker room intervieivs. PHOTO ESSAY: V. Hudson, J. Hannon, D. Glos Without Valerie, our staff wouldn ' t have any soul. Besides the many long hours spent on the Photo Essay Section, Judy also spent a lot of time in the girl ' s room. Debbie ' s visits to annual staff were short but sweet. With flashing fingers, she doodled her way through the year. SENIOR PICS: L. Perkins, C. Osborne These two were the best of friends. Colleen added her humor and tvit to the book, while Lynn contributed her sex appeal. UNDERCLASSMEN: C. Pierce, N Lush Crystal put in many hours with the help of other staff members, in identifying and al- phabetizing names. Nova helped some too. P. A. did her boogying and Nova was the Lush of the staff. CLUBS: R. Carnahan, R. Callaway We stuck Ruth and Ruth with one of the biggest and hardest sections. Callab—s added her bouncing spirit, and Carny was our staff shrink. MAJOR EVENTS: K. Margo, D. Suggs Debbie was always their with her helpful advice, whether it was needed or not. Kathy just stood there smiling her cute little smile. SENIOR SNAPS: D. Gross (Editor), S. Stengel Stella was one of our biggest members, and also had the biggest mouth. Demo Derla, together with Stella Starlight, worked on Senior Snaps as well as being our so called Editor. OUR INSPIRATION: Nick the Greek THANK YOU! Derla Gross: Editor 197 J THE END ' ; v.j â–
