Tackle Foreign Jargon Nous comprenons! Je ne comprends pas. . . Along with the advantages of a modern addition come new teachers and ideas to expand and improve our Language Department. Now more pupils had the opportunity to study French, Spanish, and Latin with fewer students in each class. Progressing further in the field of foreign languages were the advanced Spanish and French classes —a fifth year of study. Aiding the French students in conquering technique were two brothers from Belgium. Because they spoke only French and Italian, these boys provided us with the challenge of making ourselves understood in our adopted tongue. The experience proved to be rewarding for all. With more individual instruction and less students to demand the teachers time, the various language classes quickly improved in quality and comprehension. Everyone agreed the Language Department had taken great strides toward breaking the sound barrier of foreign language. 29 easily to attentive second year students.
