Romig, R. Bryant. This was a successful year for the band. Mr. Bell, the hand boosters, and the students all worked hard to raise money for the final payment on the new uniforms. A paper drive was held at the beginning of the year. The new band sponsors sold Christmas cards and also had a cake walk at Miller School. The main project of the year was the sponsoring of the Indiana University Band given at Memorial Auditorium on March 26. The annual Spring Concert was enjoyed by everyone, and it proved that the hand is improving every year. The band participated in several parades. The hand officers are, President, K. Sikora, R. Jennings, M. Owens, M. Brauer, B. Allen. The curtain of the 195 1-52 season of Wirt rose with dignity on the first production, a program on American Education week. The Christmas pageant preceeded by pantomimes, monologues, and choral readings was beautifully done and awe inspiring. “Child of I ler Spirit presented on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday was a true test of the Junior Drama Class. It was greeted with enthusiasm and proved the ability of the players. The grand finale of this glowing season was a presentation of a group of four one act plays, entitled: uThe Masque Of Two Strangers , “The I bird Plate”, “Finders’ Keepers”, and “One Fine Day”, presented by the Senior Drama Class under the able direction of Miss Margaret Labb. Hook Club The Book Club organized soon after school began last September with about twenty-eight members. The new officers elected were J. Quint, President; J. Quigley, Vice President; L. Newton, Secretary; and C. Hiestand, Treasurer. I he highlight of the year was the annual spring mother-daughter-faculty tea. Under the sponsorship of our school librarian, Miss Magrames, the club had an unusually good year. P. K. P. The members of P.K.P. had their election of officers last spring. Those elected were: M. Bohman, President; L. Newton, Vice-President; S. Wilds, Secretary; and J. Romig, Treasurer. The organization had many activities during the year. First on the calendar was the initiation of new members. They were attired in shorts, shirts, and other weird costumes, for the informal initiation, which lasted for one week. At the conclusion of this period, a formal initiation was held. The biggest event of the year was the annual Snow Murry Dance, held at the Naval Armory.
