We, of the staff, remember how anxious we were to start working on our book, and work we did, from September to June. First, to keep us going, were Miss Ann Armington, our sponsor, and Sondra Carlson, our editor. Much of the credit belongs to Judy Quint, who helped with layout, and Marilyn Aldrich, who kept those demon records straight. Other invaluables included Nancy Christoff, our Art Editor, and Sherry Wilds, Activities Editor. Barbara Young handled the Classes department with efficiency, and Carolyn Fiarl and Carol Hiestand, our Copy Girls, were indispensable. Bringing us the never-ending procession of photos from Mr. Meneakis, our friendly Camera Club sponsor, were LaVonne Newton and Pat McCall. The sparkling sports writeups were written by Marilyn Voris and Keith Allen, our Sports Editors. To these, and to Don Spangler, the most astounding salesman of our generation, and our faithful Associate Staff, belong our heart-felt thanks. We present to you our Sandscript on this Senior Day in June, 1952, with the greatest of hopes—that you will come to love and treasure it through the years, for here are yourselves, your classmates, and your memories. and Mr. Scheub, were introduced to the student body. The Willy Whirl Dance was given in honor of the freshmen and new students. Trooper Topics were given to them. The McVout Soriee on February 22, was a complete success with the entire community helping. Students worked in art, sewing, shop and food classes. Others bought white elephants that were for sale at the carnival. The parents sent objects for sale and worked during the evening for different organizations of the school. The council enjoyed the luncheon Exchange Experience Emerson held. Student councils of the Gary High Schools were represented. As we go to press the W.S.O. is planning the annual Awards Day and Memorial Day programs and will hold the elections for next years officers. We hope that the council of next year will find the co-operation we did. i TRAFFIC COMMITTEE: Seated: M. Owen, S. Carlson, M. Lafferty, N. Mettner. Standing: A. Dye, C. Coats, J. Penny, H. Shultz.
