On Constitution Day, September 17, the student body pledged loyalty to the United States Constitution and to the Wirt Student Organization. President Eli Marposon presided. Mayor Eugene Swartz, the main speaker, was introduced by Mr. Fowble. The organization’s constant aim has been to have all, (students, faculty, and other staff members) work together building a democratic unit. Much has been done; much needs to be done. The Wirt Student Organization has not yet worked out a set-up for grade school participation, especially needed in the seventh and eighth grades. On the credit side can be mentioned the working out of such problems as tardiness, absence, hall order, and lunch hour recreational need to the mutual satisfaction of students and faculty. Those who serve on the Representative Council, the administrative body, are the four duly elected officers, the four class presidents, two representatives from each class, and the chairman of the standing and special committees. The four standing committees, (Booster, Election, Social, and Traffic) work closely with the Representative Council. In addition to many council meetings, several general assemblies of the entire student body have been held. Before the term ends the Wirt Student Organization hopes to initiate a plan for recognizing service to the school. John Newton acted as chairman of this committee. ELECTION COMMITTEE: L. Penrod. N. Tuft, D. Glasford, S. Palmer, B. Stein, S. Wilds, J. Lewis, J. Whited. TRAFFIC COMMITTEE: S. Palmer, C. Earl, D. Krebes, J. Walstad, G. Pavol, S. Dodds, Pete Hook. BOOSTER COMMITTEE: Back Row: H.
