As we explore the earlier years of our secondary education, we must face the realization that along with the freedom we enjoy goes the responsibilitj commensurate with that freedom. Each of us must learn to make effective use of those established lines of communication through which effective action can become a realiU ' . K such lines are faulty, then it is tlie responsibility of each of us to seek the appropriate correc- tion of that fault. Observing the sincerity with which the majority of our Willard family have assumed their rightful responsibility toward themselves, as well as their school, has been a real pleasure and de- light to me. Let us remember that we will receive no more out of our school experience than we are will- ing to invest in that experience. Success depends largely upon how seriously one pursues his responsibil- ity and how determined he is to succeed. Let each one of us be guided by that inner craving for individual success and achievement. One ' s character, attitude, and social behavior are among those personal assets which are necessary if one is to assume his rightful role in a modern society. May we strive to accen- tuate individual libertjs opportunity, and achievement by utilizing our creative talents to their fullest ex- -tent. Best wishes, 2
