Rain drenched the 1975 Homecoming game held October 17, forcing the outside festivites to be postponed until Parent’s Night, two weeks later. Cathy Reidy reignea as queen at the contest against Tiffin Colum- bian. Senior football players escorted the attendents. Accompanying the national an- them. the blast from a howitzer cannon was set off by the national guard, adding to the excitement. The few dedicated spectators who braved the cold rain were rewarded when halftime featured a special bicenten- nial salute, climaxed when 2,000 helium- filled balloons were released and soon drifted from view. On October 18. the WHS students danced to the music of the Sea Dogs, a rock group from Mansfield.
