fit l 5 i 1:9 -x Ni ol I? nm, mu ll X x AX 'X X ., E, the seniors of l952, wish to dedicate this annual to free public education which made possible not only our four years in high school, but also our training in grade school. Our democracy makes free education our birthright. How- ever, we did not secure our instruction by uttering a few magic words. lt took more than the rubbing of an Aladdin's l1amp for us to obtain our diplomas. The financial support of the tax- payers, the sacrifices of our parents, the persistence of our teachers, and hard work on our part, were all required as the Open Sesame to break our chains of ignorance and illiteracy. These chains still bind people in many countries where free public education does not exist. Free public education has defended and will continue to defend our democracy which gave it birth. We dedicate our lives to the defense of our way of life which is promoted by free public education. X l X l 4
