Perhaps no other school on the Pacific Coast can claim a greater percentage of its graduates among men and women who have become out- standing public figures. The influence of the school is, through them, strongly felt in all fields of life as an inspiring and steadying force for high ideals of character and fellowship. To further the interests of the University, alumni in various parts of Lne country have organized a number of Willamette Clubs. Much has been done by them to keep alive the spirit and honor of old Willamette. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OFFICERS HAROLD EAKIN. 16563925 WEA-LL KAUFMAN HATHAWAY ROBINSON CRAVEN MENS GLEE CLUB Director - ---- PROFESSOR E. W. HOBSON Assistant Director ---- WILLIAM WRIGHT President - - - WILLIS HATHAWAY Vice-Presirlent - - - LESTER SMITH Secretary - - - PAUL GEDDES Manager - - - LAURENCE SCHREIBER Accompanist ------ MARGARET LEWIS Reader ------- CHARLES KAUFMAN HE Men's Glee Club is composed of the finest men's voices on the campus. This organization completed a successful tour this year under the able management of Mr. Laurence Schreiber. The trip included the following cities in Northwestern Oregon and Washington: West Linn, Portland, Hood River, The Dalles, Pendleton, Walla Walla, Richland, Kennewick, Lower Naches, Ellensburg, Condon, Washougal, Forest Grove, and Newberg. The Club gave its home concert in the Elsinore Theater to a large audience of Salem people who declared it one of the finest clubs that Willamette has ever produced. Other concerts of this twenty-fourth season were given in Jefferson, Monmouth, and McMinnville. The Varsity Quartette, the members of which are also members of the glee club, is a vital factor among musical organizations of the campus. The Quartette has been offered an opportunity to tour on an Eastern Chautauqua circuit for the summer of 1928, which offer is rare for a Western musical organization. Such a tour would advertise Willamette's musical achievements in a manner that would prove very beneficial to the University. ,S 41 5' in if I IX. s K 'L' it . pb., X Ot mf' Sai-0 fl V v 5' Jflg 'ia r ' of vc ff' ea an .
