Each year two delegates from Willamette are sent to the F. H. A. State Convention in Cor- vallis. The two delegates which represented Xvillamette this year were Carol Dykes and Joanne Holmes. The club holds birthday parties for members whose birth- days fall during the school months. Officers were President, Diane Jensen, Vice-President, Jeanette Graham: Secretary, Jane Sorensen, Historian, Bonnie Hartfordg Parlia- mentarian, Pat Bolingerg Reporter, Elvira Jones. FBLA The Willamette Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America Club has 25 active members. The purpose of the club -is to interest young men and women in the advancement of future business leaders. A candlelight initiation and installa- tion service was held for new members and officers early in the fall and one again in the spring. Parents and friends were guests. Also a Christmas party was held the week before the holiday vaca- tion at which the group wrapped Christ- mas gifts they had purchased for six needy children. Other parties were held during the year. Projects for the year were: help a needy family, assist library by typing cards for the files, study correct man- ners and ways to improve personality, and make a survey of business places in our community. Officers for 1951-S2 were: president, Yvonne Giles, vice president, Diane Jen- sen, secretary, Jeanette Grahamg treasur- er, Carol Dykes, reporter, Pat Bolingerg adviser, Mrs. Inez Loveless. The staff concentrated on better page layout as well as balanced ad make-up. Pins were given to students who did outstanding work on the paper. In addi- tion to the monthly edition the staff also published the '53 handbook. A Dopester was also produced in the fall, an uncensored dopey sheet comprised of jokes and public polls.
