This scene shows the football field and other college buildings in the June, 1951, flood, and was taken from above the Rockdale bridge. 2. This livery stable was established in September, 1907, on the present-day site of Corky's Suzuki, by J . B, Tharp and O. J. Ensworth. 3. The gateway to Miami stood at East Central and C street, near the passenger depot along the tracks. The letters had colored lights on them and were turned on during the Christmas season. 4. These two little papooses are Osage Indians, and their picture was taken by L. B. Zilar about 1895. V Clockwise, starting at top left: 1. This was the way the county courthouse looked until the 1950's, 2. This building stood on the present site of the First National Bank building until 1930 and was the home of the Bank of Miami, organized in 1895 with a capital stock of S10,000. It was the first financial institution in town. 3. This picture, taken about 1895 shows two Osage chiefs, Fred Lookout, standing, and Louis Greyhouse. 4. This picture shows part of Picher in the mining days from atop the Big Chief Mine. 5. Before the present building was constructed, the First National Bank was located in the Rexall building. This picture was taken about 1910. 6. The old McKinley School once looked like this. 7. Osborne's Drug store is now located in this building, built by Dr. W. L. McWilliams in 1895 as an opera house, Miami High held their first commencement exercises here. Almost a duplicate on the exterior was old Wilson School, which also oc- cupied the same site as the present school of that name. Bottom row, 1.-r.: The building on the left side of this picture is the old Lincoln school building, but, when this photo was taken, it was the newer of the two structures. Bonds were sold in 1902 to pay for the second building in the picture, and it is known to have been completed by 1910. The other photo shows Mckinley School, which was located where the offices of the School Board are today, Bottom photo-This building, the Ward, or Central School, was erected in 1900 at a cost of 58200. It was the first free school in Indian Territory and was on the site of the present Nine Tribes Tower.
