Linda Mizer served as First Attendant to Band Queen Dana McCurry. Linda was active in Marching Band, Concert Band and Orchestra. Her other activities included Softball, playing clarinet in the Tulsa Community Band and participation in the Youth Group at First Christian Church where she attends regularly. When I found out I was an attendant to Dana, I was thrilled to be chosen to represent the Music Department of Rogers, Linda proclaimed. ind LJt een S ftenaan s c de tHaa Ji The Second Attendant to the Band Queen was Miss Brandy Holley. Brandy, being the active person that she is, was involved in various activities. An outstanding member of N.H.S., she was also active in Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and V.I.C.A., as well as an active member of the Roselawn Baptist Church Youth Group. Brandy ' s reaction to the outcome of Band Queen was one of surprise. I ' m happy to stand along side Dana and Linda, but most importantly, to also show how important the Instrumental Music Department of Rogers really is! %

Each year the Roper Band Queen is nominated by the band from among the senior girls enrolled in Instrumental Music and is then elected by a popular vote of the student body. This year the student body selected Miss Dana Lee McCurry as Band Queen. Dana was active in the National Honor Society, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Chorale and the ever-popular Marching Band. She is also a very active member of the Glen Station Church of God. As Band Queen, Dana attended all band activities. She lent her spirit in all Marching Contests, Parades, and at all football games. The best part of being Queen was knowing that I was chosen to represent the Instrumental Music Department, she stated. 1382-4383 Sfcand 2lae , f t ' ' t UNIVERSITY OF TULSA - SKE CONGRATULATIONS MISS DArffi LEE MCCURRY 13S2 ROGERS BOND GUEEN Ropers E Z UU les BQ QUARTER j immsan 3 3 3 tjmeoutsleft OSmO TO GO 00 BALI ON 00 NEWSCEIMTER Congratulations to Queen Dana Lee McCurry. N.H.S. Sponsor and Officers: (L to R) Mrs Hurd, Dan Klein, Darelyn Esmeyer, Mark Hembree, Brent Keys. The purpose of the National Honor Society is to promote scholarship, leadership, character, and service, therefore membership in N.H.S. is nationally recognized as one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a high school student. The Will Rogers chapter of N.H.S. this year initiated 74 members at ceremonies held during Back-To-School Night in October. The seniors initiated each had a grade point average of 3.25 or better, while junior candidates were each required to have a 3.5 average. A reception for new N.H.S. members and their families was held in the library after the initiation ceremonies. Melody Smith and Darelyn Esmeyer serving punch.
