Ropers Praise Will On Week During November Active Ropers celebrated Will Rogers ' birthday with tradition and innovation. For the first time, a tricycle race was held. The race was won by Tim McCloud, of Mr. Cox ' s home- room. Wednesday, the annual roping contest was held and Sen- ior Paul Thomas lassoed the prize. The week continued with the Western dress-up day and the door decorating contest. Mrs. Kersten ' s homeroom won the door decoration. David Grothe, as Richard Merrick, shows disgust with his perplexing situation. Dr. Jack Kingsley retains his composure throughout an outburst by his daughter. Mike Andreen and David Grothe clash over the contents of their books on adolescence. Will Rogers ' senior class pre- sented The Impossible Years on October 27 and 28. The play, directed by Mr. Ken Brown, focused on the Dr. Jack Kingsley family. Dr. Kingsley, a teen-age psy- chologist, found that writing about the problems of adoles- cence was an easier task than solving them. He deduced this when his teen-ager, Linda, flunked gym, posed nude for a painting, and entertained a host of young men. The confusion actually began when Linda pronounced that she was married but refused to dis- close the identity of her mate.
