IR X, I X, X Xlkw - X .. . ,N-:eo-V N-be v X am the Will Rogers High School Lariat. I was born in 1939, through the insistence of the first students of Will Rogers High School. Many times during the war my survival was doubt- ful. One year 119435 it was announced that I would have to be discontinued for the duration of the war but I was kept alive by the efforts of students and teachers. I have now lived for ten years and in this edition I wish to tell you something about the changes which have taken place in Will Rogers High School. When the first classes entered on September 9, 1939, they came to a school which stood lone and bare on top of a hill-a school with no traditions or symbols to guide its students, but with great pride in its famous name and with the ideals of Will Rogers to inspire them. During these ten years our school has advanced and grown far beyond that first beginning but it will always have the ideals of that school on the prairie, whether large or small, Time Rides On.
