IN MEMCRIAM 9 HENRY FRNKA, JR. 1929-1946 Henry, or Big Boyu as his friends knew him, was an all-round athlete, a conscientious student, and, most of all, a real friend to everyone. He participated in football, basketball, and track, and lettered in all three sports. When he was not play- ing or studying, he put his time on school activities. All those who came in contact with him will re- member his keen sense of fairness, good sportsmanship, and the fighting spirit that would never permit him to give up. He learned from his father what team work meant. He had learned from his mother what it meant to be a gentleman. . . . leader of young men, excellent student, team man, great blocker, typical example of all that is good and honest in the Youth of America . . Henry, our Roper fullback, was fatally injured in the last minute of play in the Rogers-Central game, while carrying the ball for the school he loved. 24
