f9!7Q !'f9!7C' Because of priorities and the shortage of photographic supplies, engraving materials, and other necessities this Victory Lariat will be the last Will Rogers High School year- book for the duration. In fact, you may well wonder that this yearbook Was even attempted, but many of our boys going into service were eager to carry with them pictures of their best friends. Between these covers are bound memories never to be forgotten by students of Will Rogers High School. VVe feel sure that the Rogerites of 1943, no matter what their pro- fession or goals of achievement, will enjoy turning back through the pages of this Lariat to renew old acquaintances. It has truly been a year of training for Victory. We set up high standards and have attempted to reach our goal. Not only the boys and teachers who left to enter the armed forces but, also, those of us who remained on the home front have put forth our best efforts for the defense of America. The faculty who planned and executed the training for Victory courses and the students who participated in the plan have every right to feel that this has, indeed, been a year of great achievement for Will Rogers High School.

o o Pfffffi lf?-ff? To all Rogcriies who have gone, 01' will go, into the czrmeci rcrwicer of our country: All over the world today, in army camps, on ships at sea, even on the battle fields, the boys from our school are meeting school chums and teachers and finding comfort and peace in seeing their familiar faces. This has been an unusual year-a year we will never forget. We have watched boys we've known all our lives become eighteen, receive their first draft papers, and then finally march off to some branch of the serviceg we have seen some of our most feminine girls don a pair of overalls, or a white uniform, and go to work in a defense plant or in a hospital as an Angel of Mercy. On the production lines, on the battlefronts and in hospitals all over the World, Rogerites are doing much to make us proud. In spite of the fact that these faculty members and students are miles from home the bond of friendship brought about by happy days at Rogers will live on in the hearts of all of us. Of the hundreds of blue stars on the service flag hung in our hall only two have been replaced with gold ones. VVe hope some day to replace the flag with a permanent plaque for our Honor Roll.
