' ,,a,1wzJsofe17 ' QMCZ-Lewfdoa! v Will Rogers, world-famous Oklahoma humorist, for whom this school is named, was a typi- cal American. He was a friend to all, from penniless vagabonds to stately kings. Symbolic of democratic opportunities, Will Rogers rose from the simple life of a cowboy to become a world- renowned person. Even in his humor he was con- siderate of others. He once said, You can always kid a big man. I generally hit the fellow on top because it's not fair to hit a man when he's downf, He was like that always, ready to serve the people and help them get a laugh at the serious side of life once in a while, rather than striving to become famous. Unselfishly Will Rogers gave freely of his time and money to help others.
