O the future seniors of tomorrow we, the graduating class of l94l, extend a wish for happiness and success. We hope that your years in Will Rogers High School will be as successful and enjoyable as our two years have been. Many wise and good traditions have been established by the graduating class of last year and the graduating class of this year and you, as the future graduates, have the same opportunity to establish worthwhile traditions. -KATHERINE KARNES OUND within these pages are many happy memories and the enthusiastic spirit of our school. In future years old friends can greet old friends once again by turning these leaves, which may by then be torn and faded but which will still bring back those happy, never-to-be-forgotten days when we were young. '-GLORIA STURGE E, the seniors, are preparing to climb higher rungs on the ladder of life, and step into the future of which we know nothing. As we do this we leave the underclassmen to carry on our ideas and traditions. We extend to the future graduating classes our best wishes and sincerest hopes for their success. -NATALEE BROWN S this, our last year in Will Rogers High School, draws to a close we depart- ing seniors leave with the hope that our great school will grow and become even greater in the future. To you who follow we leave the ideals and traditions we have started. We heartily wish you success. 'JANE JOHNSON

OREWORD We have prepared this yearbook as an ambassador of good will, hoping that in future years it will help to recall memories of the happy hours spent inside the walls of Will Rogers High School. Among the graduates who have been our school friends we will find, in the future, people in all walks of life. No matter what their profession nor what goals they achieve, we are sure they will enjoy turning back through the pages of this book of friends and renewing old acquaintances. WAYNE SHELTON HE senior class of '41 dedicates this year's Lariat to all graduates of Will Rogers High School. Memories never to be forgotten by Will Rogers students are bound between these covers. The name Will Rogers alone gives us a strange feeling of joy and pride in our school. BUILDING EXTERIOR Students of Will Rogers High School feel it an honor to attend a school named for one of Okla- homa's most outstanding and beloved citizens, our own Will Rogers. It is with a feeling of pride and humility that we. in our school, wish to uphold the name of the man who never met anyone he didn't like. In looking forward to becoming the future citizens of America. we find an added inspiration during our school years in the honesty and sin- cerity of such a citizen as Well Rogers. VVhcn the doors of Will Rogers High School swung open for the first time in September, 1939. there were three hundred fifty-nine seniors. five hundred twenty-four juniors, and six hundred eighteen sophomores enrolled. with fifty faculty members. Before the close of the year the faculty was in- creased with three additional members.
