D.A.R. GOOD CITIZEN The annual Good Citizen Contest sponsored by Major Hugh Dinwiddie Chapter Daughters of the American Revo- lution of Knightstown was accepted by Wilkinson High School. Eleanor Lewrnan, a senior girl, was chosen upon the basis of Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism to represent her school. An exam covering affairs of County, State, Nation, and World wasvtaken by Eleanor and after being judged locally, her entry was sent to the state where she placed first in Hancock County. Congratulations, Eleanor, we are happy to have you as our Good Citizen. HOMEMAKER OF TOMORROW The senior girls of W.H.S. were invited to participate in a nationwide search for the Homemaker of Tomorrow SPOIIBQTOT1 by Betty C1'0Ckel'- The national winner receives a 55,000 scholarship, the state winners receive 51,500 and a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia, where the national winner will be chosen. Of the Senior girls taking part in the contest, Linda Thomas placed first in this school. Her entry will be judged along with winners from all participating schools -for top honors in Indiana. Her award was a gold award pin, a- loiilg with Betty Crocker cookbooks for herself and for her sc ool. HOOSIER BOYS STATER John Whitinger was honored by Greenfield American Legion Post 119 when the organization chose him as Hancock County's representative at the 1954 Hoosier Boys State, Tlus award was based on Citizenship, Leadership, and Dependa bility. The American Legion renders a great service in build ing future leadership through the Boys State program. Spon sored by this patriotic and civic organization, Boys State gives the young men opportunity to develop ideals of demo cracy for a richer and fuller life as American Citizens. Thanks to Bust Commander Don Burres and the Green field American Legion Post 119 for selecting a Wilkinson stu dent to be a Hoosier Boys Staten
