Dean oi Girls XYith her cheery smile and friendly word, Miss Iidna Reitz has made her cozy office a lzfzmvz where girls may go to discuss their problems and questions of habits, manners. dress, and all kinds of social activities. She also supervises the Girls' Council and the Senior Counsellors. 'l'he former is composed of one girl from each health class. These girls serve as dean's aides and have as their goal. keeping the ap- pearance and social atmosphere of our school the finest. 'l'he Senior Counsellors are selected by our dean upon recom- mendation of the Girls' Council. These girls act as big sisters to the sophomore girls. meeting with them six times during the iirst semester to acquaint the new students with high school life. Miss Reitz also teaches classes in health and sponsors all social functions. Miss FDNA RLITZ MR, EDWARD F. lion Guidance Counsellor 'l'he functions of the Guidance Counsellor are numerous. Mr. Edward lige. our Guidance Counsellor, is always ready to be a personal advisor to every student of XYilkinsburg High School as he plans his schedule for the next semester. As college requirements change from year to year and new catalogs are required, Mr. lige keeps us posted as to these changes and it is he. who etticiently advises us all. whether seniors. juniors or sophomores, in relation to credits. and the courses and subjects best suited for the course we are to pursue. Our advisor keeps in contact with graduates through the school limployment Service. which is an aid to many former students that are seeking employment. 13

Snip! go the shears from the sewing rooms. Snif! Snif! Snif! go we all as we get a whif of the goodies from the cooking classes. lfirst in line are the wood shop boys armed to the teeth with nails and keeping their hammers in tune with the needs of this modern age. 'l'hat purr we hear is from contented and healthy motors and batteries that have found new life in the auto shop. Right in line are the electric boys with their displays of lights. coils. generators, lamps, floor plugs. radios. doorhells. and transformers with all their complicated parts exposed. Look! Here come the girls leading a parade of tempting foods-foamy desserts, pudding, spicy pickles. jars of fruit. loaves of bread. pies. cakes, and even chicken a la kings-demonstrating as they march along the delicate art of delicious cooking and economic house keeping. Next in line is a fashion parade of the latest and smartest styles modeled by future duchesses and queens of style. There are school clothes, playtime dresses, and party frocks, all in a colorful gala array. 14
