Fifty years ago, there was graduated from our Wilkins- burg High School a class, often called the iirst class. Since then classes have come, have completed their work, and have gone carrying with them knowledge, inspiration and a loyal devotion to our school. With the growth in numbers has in- creased the love and respect for all those who have contributed to its glory and fame. To each succeeding class it has truly been a challenge to equal the records of the preceding classesg and to each new class have been given new opportunities and thus higher standards to maintain. So we look back over a period of fifty years growth to that first class which began the path to a larger and greater high schoolg and we see the class of 1887 who had the unique honor of graduating in the same year as the incorporation of Wilkinsburg as a borough. Be- cause it was their privilege to blaze trail for us, we the staff of this 1937 Annual, do dedicate this sixteenth volume to Miss Emily Munson fMrs. Charles A. Shireyj of Manor, Pa., Miss Alice Potter CMrs. Frank Millerj of Murraysville, Pa., and Miss Clarissa A. Moifitt, of Pittsburgh, Pa.
