A S 111111-11 7, Q History of the Midyear Class of 1932 Twelve years ago, throughout various parts of the United States in the various grade schools, we, the chosen eighty, were starting to Hrst grade. What a glorious adventure! Something we had wondered about since we had learned to talk! With what pride we showed Mother that hrst star Teacher placed on our foreheadg what joy, rivaled only by the thrill of graduation from high school! Through the grades we struggled, then, with added responsibility, we entered junior Iligh. ln junior l--ligh, we had a band, a football team, and many clubs, just like high school, then, too, we went from room to room in changing classes. These changes we accepted with a great deal of pride, we were growing up. After the trials and tribulations of junior high, another supreme moment came-entering high school. From irresponsible junior highers we were trans- formed into painstaking and diligent students. With this change came accomplish- ments, which we challenge any class to equal. The presidents of many clubs were members of our classy The National llonor Society, Edgar Eaton: The Student Council, William Kinnang The Hi-Y Club. james Golden: The Science Club, Donald Cook: The Music Club, Ben Hill, and The Spanish Club, Walter Radcliffe. Dorothy Gillespie and Donald Cook served as members of the Activity Board. Our class has made an enviable record in scholarship. Over thirty-Eve per cent of the class have been on the honor roll each month, and fifteen members of the class have been elected to the National llonor Society. Martha Marsh, our valedictorian had only one B among her A's during the three years in high school. Besides club activities and scholarship, our class has been outstanding in sports and dramatics. Lewis Shuker, captain of the basketball team, was also a member of the track teamg and twice a regular on the football team. Mervin Mawhinney won glory on the basketball team, joe jefferies in baseballg and Dick Dennison in swimming. Ruth jones received her letter for basketball. Besides the players, many team managers were in our class, Edgar Eaton in football, jim Golden in swimming, and Etfa Lou Crawford in girls' basketball ln the various operas and plays our class has taken leads. Marian MacMillan has sung leading parts since her sophomore year. Marian and Isabel McGregor, our pianist, made our class musically prominent. ln Arcady placed the musical talent of the entire class on display. Dayton Cronister, Wilfred Stifiler, james lless and others before mentioned had prominent parts. These have been three happy and eventful years, three years of accomplish- ment. As we leave let us repeat from our class song, written by Nancy Kiser,- May honor and glory come to you, Through the class of thirty-two. 'lAWl'IllY-I lm-e
