The North Wilkesboro Public Schools' Superintendent and the School Boards of both North Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro have great responsibilities and make many im- portant decisions in providing for the students of Wilkes Central. This year they have planned and made provision for the gymtorium soon to be bujlt. As usual they are alert to provide the best teachers available. The Principal of Wilkes Central continually meets the challenges of a large growing high school. Careful planning and first hand experience by Mrs. Smith gives the Centralites tasty, well balanced meals. Central's spirit sounds through the whirr of Mr. Bussel's waxing machine, footsteps in the lonely halls as Lane Wood helps Mr. Bussel after school . . . the clatter of plates as the students who work in,the cafe- teria serve the long lines of hungry Centralites . . . Hey, Mrs. Smith, can I have five pieces of bread? . . . the scrape of sandpaper os Doc's Boys refinish the desks. The spirit could be seen in the cleanliness and efficiency of the school. Willingness and busyness of these helpers reflect the high standards of our cafeteria. Mr. Bussel brushes up the unusually peaceful hall before another rush of Central feet. Page Eleven
