from the President Reflect well for you are young and of an age to learn. -Socrates Whether three or four years have been spent at Waterloo Lutheran University they have gone quickly. Looking back they seem very short years indeed. And yet very few years have been so full of experience and growth. During your undergraduate years you have been building a base as firm and as broad as you could make it for the superstructure which succeeding tomorrows will place upon it. The class of i967 faces sharp challenges-and so did all its predecessors. The world has become a crowded and complex place. lf the world of today offers challenges, it also holds in- numerable opportunities. Never has it offered a more encouraging welcome to every talent and to every willing hand or mind. Whether one desires to work with things or with people, whether one's talent is in the world of ideas or of practical affairs, there is a chance to make progress toward one's goal. As you ascend the various paths toward your goal you will develop new friends and interests. Much of your energy and abilities will, of course, be directed into your work. But do not, under the pressure of earning a living, forget how to live. Intangibles such as friendships are too precious to be lost by default. Take time to develop these more intangible aspects of life. Make use of your capabilities to communicate with others. lt will always stand you in good stead. For, no matter what the future holds, if one can communicate his ideas to another, he will succeed. When the graduates look back from ten, twenty or thirty years hence I trust that they will look back with the same gratifying satisfaction, affection and pride as I shall on the formative years they spent at Waterloo Lutheran University. Don Hough lst Vice-President .leon Franz Secretary MZIVZVXKKT 77 Nancy Brown 2nd Vice-President
