WATERLOO LUTHERAN SENIINARY J i m, . lm. W5 ' . . v Q- I Hlwllll' WATERLOO. ONTARIO TELEPHONE: C5197 744-8141 TO THE GRADUATES OF 1967: Your class, numerically, is the largest ever to graduate from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. This fact brings great joy to a multitude of persons in our Synod and Church who, through the years, have prayed and worked valiantly for the growth of our Seminary and for a large and constant stream of young men from our Seminary to serve our Lord in the ordained ministry of the Church as well as in other forms of ministry. How I personally have longed to see so large a class as yours graduate from Waterlool For me your class is the answer to much prayer. The first class to graduate following my acceptance of what I believed to be a true call from God to leave a very happy ministry to begin another in a strange land where my family and I did not know one single person, numbered one solitary graduate, whose con- sequent ministry, I must add, has been a source of joy to me. I began my ministry with the firm conviction that Hexcept the Lord build the House they labor in vain that build it. Very humbly I now say to you, the Lord has surely answered my prayers and those of my beloved co-workers on the faculty of the Seminary and of our University and in the Synod. The numerical size of your class is living testi mony to this. God builds His Kingdom, how and when and where He wills. HYou are God's field, God's building,H I Cor. l: 9, not ours. But there is another reason for my personal joy as I bid you farewell and God speed. This is the sense of co mittment, dedication and readiness to invest your lives in the people of our world, for Christ's sake. Those persons who get most out of life are surely those who give themselves for the sake of others. Never forget - he who loses his life for Christ's sake forever finds it. In such as you rests the hope of the world. You will continue to be in my prayersl Please remember me in yours! Faithfully , mmf J. Ray Houser, Principal. WATERLOO LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY 30
