I TERNATIO L BUSINESS The International Business Program is designed to help meet the need for management development in the emerging nations. It is an outgrowth of field surveys conducted by the university in Western Asia and Africa during the summers of 196-1 and 1965 under sponsorship of The Charles J. Strosacker Ifoundation. Midland. Michigan. The program leading to the Diploma in Business Administration combines on-campus study of the elements of administration, observation of Canadian industrial practice through plant visitation and seminars with management and linally on-the-job management experience in an industry of one's choice. During a Christmas trip to New York City, the International Fellows had an opportunity to xiexx the headquarters operations of such prominent world-wide organizations as International Business Machines Company, International Paper Company and Chas. Pfizer 61 Company. Inc. In eo-operation with the Canadian External Aid Office, 41 persons from 23 nations have come to Canada to take part in the program. Average age of the group is 30. Most are engaged in business in their home countries, with some owning their own companies. Waterloo Lutheran University salutes the International Fellows, not only for having done their work in most commendable fashion, but also for what they have accomplished as ambassadors in bringing to the campus and to their community at large, a better understanding and appreciation of their home lands.
