ACADEMIC Thinking, learning, studying, forgetting and the satisfaction of understanding are all integral parts of the process we know as education. But what exactly is education to the people that are so much a part of Wiley . . . the faculty, the students, the graduates? Education is the transmis- sion of the knowledge of yesterday, to the scholars of today, who will expand that wisdom and apply it for tomorrow. Not only does education allow us to help ourselves to a better tomorrow, but it also allows us to teach others as we ourselves have been taught . . . the type of academic skills which leave much room open for individual expression and expansion. Proof of the success of our academic system is re- flected in successes of those who have come before us. Just as their successes have inspired us, so will ours to those who will follow us. What we learn now, whether it is an alegbraic formula, or the theme of -an ancient classic, it is necessary to us. For the knowledge we receive here is our sole foundation on our outcome for tomorrow.
