LUILLMM SCOTT PCQNEY Miss Landrum, Assistant Principal and head of the social studies department, has AB. and AM. degrees from Indiana State Teachers' Col lege. Miss Landrum is also counselor tor sophomore and junior boys. She has taught sociology, psychology, world history, U. S. his tory, Latin American history and economics since she has been at Wiley. Miss Landrum directs Wiley's extensive testing program. It you have not already guessed . . . her hobby is work. Ten DEANS AND CUUNSELDRS MISS TI-IELMA B. IGBE, the Dean of Girls, holds AB. and M.A. degrees frorn Indiana State Teachers' College and did graduate Work at Indiana University and the University of Southern California. Besides being Dean of Girls, Miss lobe teaches niatheinatics, is sponsor of S. G. S. Girls, co-sponsor of the noon prograrn, directed the magazine campaign and is social sponsor of Y-Teens. Traveling, gathering specimens of wild flowers and rocks, reading and seeing good niovies and plays are Miss Iobe's hobbies. MR. VANE R. RUTHERFORD, the Dean of Boys, is a graduate of Victoria I-Iigh School, Canada. He has an AB. and an M.A. degree froni Indiana State Teachers' College and Coluinbia University. Mr. Rutherford, affectionately known as Rusty,I' has had graduate study at Indiana and Wisconsin Universities. At present he is teaching algebra, is sponsor of the Student Council and is available to assist in other projects. In the past Rusty has taught physics, health ,chemistry and geometry: has coached football, basketball and tracky and has been director of athletics. I-Iis hobbies are reading, travel and sports, MISS WINIFRED L. WARNER is a fine counselor for the junior and senior girls at Wiley. She advises senior girls on that all-irnportant niatter of what college to attend, and ar- ranges interviews with college representatives. Miss Warner is a graduate of Garfield I-Iigh School and received an AB. de- gree frorn Indiana State Teachers' College. She teaches georn- etry, algebra and basic math. A former senior class sponsor, Miss Warner is an ardent supporter of Wiley and Wiley ac- tivities. I-ler leisure nionients are spent in reading, traveling and working all types of puzzles. We found, however, that being a senior meant more than yellow cords . . . it meant work and a lot of it. After the election oi officers and the organization of the class under the guidance of our home- room teachers, we ordered cards and announcements, had our senior pictures taken for the Wileyan and began to plan for a full year ahead. Events followed in rapid succession . . . football queen elected . . . Wabash Valley champs . . . magazine sale . . . basketball games and mixers . . . scholarship tests . . . senior carni- 2 val. The nineteenth annual REVUE included twenty-one acts representing the best ot Wiley's talent and clirnaxed a very successful year for the Council. WILEY REVIEW the auspices ol the Councili to the schools outstanding athletes. Yearly donations are given to the Red Cross, the Community Chest and the Cancer Society. This year contributions were made for the re-landscaping ol the school and to the band unitorm fund. Projects sponsored by the Council included the election of the Football Queen, the Homeconiing, the TURKEY STRUT, the senior-underclassrnen basketball game and, in the spring, the WILEY REVUE. Wiley was represented on the QUAD-l ll COUNCIL and sent delegates to the National Con- ference in Washington, D. C., and the State Conference in Indianapolis. The homeroom representatives are chosen to assist in council projects and to report the news ot council activities to their home rooms.
