This wonderland is nestled between rolling sand dunes and glisten- ing wetlands and to this day, still lives in its own world. The- people of this world call themselves Crusaders. They are very special people. Each year the Crusaders welcome newcomers to their world as the oldest Cru- saders leave it for another. What happens between entering and leaving is the magical, mystical beauty that creates the World of Wildwood Catholic. Each Crusader enters as a young duckling then grows and matures into an elegant swan morally, socially, physically, and academically. The set- ting of Wildwood Catholic nurtures this growth from duckling to swan while it developes each unique indi- vidual ... In anticipation of the oncoming storm, the student body was summoned to the cafeteria near the end of the school day to share the ice cream and other foods con- sidered perishable. As the wind picked up, the restless stu- dents’ thoughts be- gan to center around family, hone, and pos- sessions. Residents evacuated during the night, feared the worst, but Cape May County was spared the full extent of Gloria’s wrath. Monday morning the 8:15 bell rang, and it was business as usual. “What hurricane??!! 15 It’s Raining Boys!” Shortcut Sweeties Underclassmen V VKV V ... Upon entering the world of Wildwood Catholic, The young Crusaders learn moral values through a Christian education. An attempt is made to guide the newcom- ers over the hurdles of peer pressure and decision mak- ing. They choose their friends carefully, and with them develop closely knit bonds. Within these walls, these Crusaders come to re- alize the importance of treat- ing others with thoughtful- ness and respect ... This year’s first major event was an evening assembly whose panel of speakers included mayors, a lawyer, a doc- tor, a policeman, a priest, and representa- tives from S.O.B.E.R. A New Year’s Eve dance organized in part by S.A.D.D. enjoyed a turn out from five county schools. This event raised money for films, guest speakers, and other needs.
