Award SENIORS DAVID WHEREATT LARRY JENKS DONNA KLITZKE ZDNA JONES PHIL HERING MISS HOLT President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Student Council Advisor Class lotto WE HAVE CROSSFD THE BAY THE OCEAN LIES AHEAD Class Flower Red Rose Class Colors Red and White HISTORY As I sit here in my space helmet ner vously chewing the end of my pencil I ll try in to remember the history of the class of 19 8 Gradually it is beginning to come back to me Now I remember how it be an It was like this On September 4 19584 Wild Hose H gh School was the scene of great activity The cmse was the launching of the satellite Rosenik Om it were twenty eight freshmen passengers Lily Budko Larry Jenks Donna Klitzkie Ronald Fox and Geor e Wilcox were our leaders that year Miss haker was our Commander Qxr top coamander during the four years we were on the Rosenlk was Mr Harvey Principal We hadn t been inthe air too long when Raymond Mullenix Jumped off into space to live a life of freedm but before the second semester we picked Joyce Ferguson off a pass ing cloud to fill Raymond s place We were in the air nine months and in May we returned to the earth and were allowed to live cur lives as we pleased until the next September. In September of 1955 we returned to the air and were boasted a rank to sophomores. This year were missing two passengers, Lily Budko and Pat Hofus. Our leaders were Don Berglund, MaryAnne Hanson, Zona Jones, Larry Jenks, and Erin McKnight. Mr. Hyun was our commander for the year. George Hines was transferred from the Sharonik to the Rosaalk and this gave us one more passenger. Toward the end when Lorraine Bitton could take it no longer, she left us for the closest cloud. In May we again returned to earth to enjoy ourselves When we returned in September as Juniors all passengers were still with us Oxr lea ders were Phil Hering Dave Whereatt Joan Moore, Rmald Fox and Zona Jones Our com mander was Miss Knop During the year mother passenger Joe Wansnyder was transferred to us from another satellite but he soon left Later that year Ginger Novak left us for another satellite but Emily Mxllenix came to fill her place 'Ihat year Verdell Bashweiler left us to Join Lorraine In May we again landed an earth for our much needed rest be fore our Senior year for it was a hard trip Q1 September 8 1957 we again donned our space helmets and prepared for our final Journey on the Rosenlk Joyce Ferguson who soon afterward married and George Hmes who only a few weeks before had passed away did not return. Dave lmereatt, Larry Jenks, llnna Klitzkie, Zona Jones, and Phil Hering were elected as our leaders. Our commander was Miss Holt who was faced with a difficult job. Dick lksbertson was transferred from West Bock- ford's satellite to the Rosenik just in time for a roleinour Senior Class Play. 'Ihe last few weeks of the year there was a great scurry as everyme rushed to pay their bills md did extra credit work to graduate. Finally, th diplomas were signed. 01 the evening of May 23 we walked down the aisle of the Rosonlk for the final time. 'Ibis was a happy and a long awaited time for all of ns. Ath letics, music, and forensics claimed the interest of many Juniors. 'Papa Was a Preacher', the class play, was present ed in April under the direction of Mr. Salter. King Hank Rable and his queen Isabel Potts reigned over the Junior Prom, 'Around the World' on April 19. Bob Regal, Irvin Arendt, Gordon Niel- CLASS OFFICERS son, and Dave Leudtke were chosen for D- BGFBIUDJ, H- Bible. R- the court of honor.
