superlor off1cers upon return on September 7 1953 Sgt James Ryan had been transferred to replace Lt Paul Wx-1 t W1th the enl1stment of Sharon Walley our squadron rose to the number of 35 The squad leaders th1s term were Lane Attoe Gordon Van A1rsdale, Rebecca Col11gan, Nanette Florsch, and Thomas Sorenson Our adv1sor was Sgt Ryan James Keohane was transferred to another reg1ment Dr1ll1ng began aga1n1J1mus1c, fOfEnS1CS, and sports lt was a great honor to our squadron to have Pvt Rebecca Colllgan as Homecomlng Queen We once more packed our duffle bags for a three month absence New Sgts Charles Weck and Arthur Hoehne, sent to rel1eve Dolores Weck and Robert Koerner, welcomed us back for our th1rd year on September 7 1954 Sgt Stanton Mart1nson was added to our staff of super1or off1cers to 1ntroduce anewf1eld of tra1n1ng On arr1val to our fam1l1ar barracks, our squad numbered 30 of the former members plus Pvts Dorothy Korleskl and Lo1s Hom Pvt Dale Weast was trans ferred to Uncle Sam s outf1t and we accept ed the wlthdrawal of Pvt Gordon h16lSOH Rebecca Colllgan Robert Mush1nsk1 Nanette Florsch Gayle Fenrlch and Jack Jones were selected to lead us dur1ng th1s term Sgt hellle M1llar pres1ded as our 8dV1S0f We Jo1ned the un1ts IH forens1cs mus1c, and sports It was our pleasure to have a member of our squadron Pvt hanette Flor sch on the Sno Ball Court As was cus tomary code we presented our Jun1or Class Play Head1n For A Weddrn We also presented, 1n honor of the Senlor class, the Jun1or Prom Klng Robert MUSh1hSk1 and Queen Rebecca Coll1gan relgned and Jack Jones, Gordon Van Alrsdale and Lane Attoe served on the court We all enjoyed danc 1ng to the mus1c of Benny Graham s orchestra 1n Blue Hawarl Another h1ghl1ght dur1ng the year was the Basket Ball It was an honor to our squad to be represented by Pvt Lane Attoe as Klng and Gary Hudz1ak on the court Rebecca Colllgan and Nanette Florsch drllled on the cheerlead1ng squad We were released for a three month furlough On September 7 1955, we returned for our f1nal term W1th a total of 34 we resumed classes Pvts W1ll1am Ros1n and not1ced the absence of Elwood Jensen at 1nspect1on, and later the absence of Lo1s Hom Our Squadron leaders were chosen Pvts Gordon Van A1rsdale, Gary Hudz1ak, hanette Florsch Robert Mush1nsk1, and Jack Jones were sworn 1n Lt Arlene Holt ad v1sed us for our f1nal term Sgt Gerald Sauer and Mae Songe were transferred to the Fort of Knowledge to replace Sgt Arthur Hoehne and Corlea Shaker We tra1ned once more 1n fOfeHS1CS, mus1c and sports The sen1or play, Mad March He1rs was present d It was a great honor to have Pvts Gayle Fenrlch and Danlel Jenks re1gn as Kxng and Qleen at the annual FHA Sno Ball We were also honored to have Pvt Robert Mush1nsk1 Re1gn as Homecomlng K1ng Nanette Florsch Gary Hudzlak, and Lane Attoe rep resented us on the court Pvts Jud1th McCarthy and Nanette Florsch served on the cheerleadlng squad th1s f1nal year Sgt Sorenson and W1ll1ams were our Mess Ser geants for the four terms Tom Sorenson was 1h charge of keep1ng our fort 1n t1p top order all four years As the term drew to a close we were rewarded for our good con duct for the four terms by a tr1p to Chl cago, Ill1no1s On the even1ng of May 24, 1956 we attended a ceremony at wh1ch we off1c1ally rece1ved an honorable d1scharge Our squad colors were scarlet and s1lver and our flower, the wh1te carnat1on On th1s great event our commandxng offlcer, General W1ll1am Harvey remlnded us that W1th the Llght of Today We ll Explore the Paths of Tomorrow Llttle d1d we know
