Many times I was late to my next class because I got so interested in what I was doing. i will always remember . . . -ra Ice cream is my favorite American food, but it has so many calories. Katrien cle Brabandere My great year in California is over . . .! Oh, how quickly the time has flown by, but it was filled with so many enioyable experiences. I remember onthe clay I arrived here, the 'I7th of August, in San Francisco, I thought I would take the next plane back to Belgium. And l said to myself, Oh, what have I done? Everything is so huge here, and so different. I don't know anyone and anything, and I'm so far away from my parents, friends, and relatives! But everyone was so friendly and warm, especially my family, the Browns, that after the second day, I knew already I wouIdn't go back for anything. I learned so much each day and people were so generous, that I dan't know who to thank first. But when I go, a part of my heart shall always remain in Santa Clara and at Wilcox. One day I shall remember the exciting football games, homecoming, the Senior Picnic, and graduation. Next year you shall have another A.F.S. student and perhaps from a bigger country than Belgium. But remember, even though it may be tiny, it shall always welcome every one of you with great ioy. My thanks especially to the entire student body and all the teachers, because you made it possible for me to have such a fantastic year. f . I --v
