Gourmet Society A Hit With Diners The Wilby Gourmet Society has. over the past few years, been quietly becoming one of the most hard-working and accomplished organiza- tions in the school. Under the guidance of top- notch chef and teacher. Mr. Milo Flannery, they cater a multitude of Wilby functions, both during and after school hours. The time when they really get to show their stuff, though, is when they hold their Gourmet Society Dinner. This year's was their third annual event, called the Buffet Extravaganza . and what an extravaganza it was. The gathering was kept small, involving about one hundred lucky diners. They were greeted with a sparkling fruit punch and a variety of appetizers including macedoine of legumes (fresh veggies to the layman), an array of cruditte (cheese, fruits, vegetables, etc.) an assortment of canapes, and charcuterie (assorted cold cuts). Soon afterward the entrees were brought out. Guests could choose any or all of the following gourmet items: Pasta Primavera, Sausage A1 Bourgeoise. Seafood Kidigree, Dutchess Potato, fresh antipasto, carved top round of beef with the Gou,m wic«e p. $wans sauces, and or roast ham with Kentucky bourbon sauce. Dinner was capped with a beautiful assortment of pastries and delicacies and coffee for those who had room for them. The entire menu had a great deal of class and style. As the guests dined. Gourmet Society members rushed around, constantly serving. cleaning, and replenishing. In the kitchen the temperature was high and the work hectic, as Mr. Flannery kept his chefs go- ing throughout the dinner. Once again the Gourmet Society dinner proved to be a complete success, with the only losers being those who missed the opportunity to enjoy the feast.
