It seemed as if you had been standing in a line for daysjust wait- ing to see the front of it. Finally, here you are, about to buy a ticket for one of the hottest money-makers of 1986 and 1987. So sit back, re- lax, and enjoy. Top Gun, the block buster action movie of 1986, took a look at Tom Cruise at Maverick Mitchell, a daring young fighter pilot who's out to be the best of the best. Platoon, nominated for eight Academy Awards, was a realistic view of the Vietnam War, depicting the confusion, exhaustion, and horror exper- ienced by its soldiers. The ultra-scary Freddy Krueger was back in nightmare On Elm Street III: Dream Warriors. This third episode of the nightmare series showed us that even when you're asleep you're not safe from Freddy. Creeeepy! The crew of the Starship Enterprise find them- selves searching for humped-back whales in the year 1986 in order to save the future of the planet Earth in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Rodney no Respect Dangerfield got all the re- spect he needed in Back To School, in which he decides to go to college and hang out, show off, have fun, chase girls, and oh, yeah, study. Oh, by the way, just a little added fact. The flop of 1986-87 film year was the high-budget, no-profit film Howard The Duck, in which a hip, fast-talking duck from outer space laid an enormous egg. It's Feast Or Famine Come Report Card Time bout every two and ahalf months, its that time again-report cards! Mot ev- eryone is exhilerated by their pros- pects on this occasion. For some, it will make their day, and for others it may ruin their whole week. When some students were asked how they felt about report cards there were a variety of reactions. “I am anxious for the results, and after I receive them I plan my strategy for the next semester accordingly. said Margaret Mancini. ‘ I'm never worried about it. claimed Lisa D'A- vino, whose sentiments are echoed by Mike Carrafa's blase, “I don't care. Loveable Mick Craig had the nerve to claim, Report card day for me is exciting! I just can't wait to see which teachers gave me extra points for my good behaviod While report cards are an integral part of the school environment, we wondered if they were as important in the home. When asked if he always showed his report card at home Dexter Clemon exclaimed, “Yeah! I'm a “C student! 1 can't say that I know of any students who don't. “I do! , chimed in junior Darrin Wright, Why, I didn't show my mom my sec- ond one. The first one was good, though! Hmmmmmm.
