Class officers during junior year were Cozette Brown, Tanya Ruhr, Tamika Jackson, and Margaret Mancini Junior Year's A Success With Help Of Class Officers ho was originally responsible for the success of the Senior Class? A few peo- ple who started the necessary fundrais- ing, who spurred the class to action ear- ly. The who has to be the Junior Class Officers of 1985-86. Tanya Kuhr was elected President of the Junior Class last year. Her hard work was partly evi- denced by the fact that she was elected again the next year as Vice-President of the Senior Class. Cozette Brown was Vice-President of the Junior Class, Tamika Jackson was Secretary, and Marga- ret Mancini was elected Treasurer in both her ju- nior and senior year. These junior class officers handled the task of planning money-raising to start the class fund. The class sold various items, such as things from Christmas catalogs, and held a bake sale. The officers also took part in the juniors' Ring Ceremo- ny of 1986. They organized and helped carry out the distribution of rings to their classmates. The money that the class raised with the guid- ance and aid of their advisor, Mr. Ponzillo, was carried over into their senior year and put mainly towards expenses of the Senior Prom. We really appreciate what Mr. Ponzillo and our Junior Class Officers did to help make the Class of '87 a suc- cess! Kristine Dziezynski 6 Seniors Chick Stop. Stacy! Margaret Mancini, and Mike Burkman are all called upon to deliver graduation speeches. Scholastic Standouts Are Part Of Wilby Heritage n any given day, it's not uncommon to pay tribute to the exploits of Wilby's stellar athletes. But very seldom do we take note of those who've achieved outstanding things in the area of learn- ing. So, it's fitting that we take a few paragraphs to take note of Wilby's top senior scholars. This year we had the unusual pleasure of hav- ing two students tie for the academic top spot; Margaret Mancini and Kristine Dziezynski. They both took a long list of honors and scholarships with them when they graduated this year, along with solid plans for their future studies. Marga- ret will attend UCOMN, majoring in psychology, and Kris will join her there, with an eye on a degree in business administration. Michael Burkman ranked next highest. A math and science whiz, Mike will attend Cornell University (how Ivy League!) in the fall, studying operational research and industrial engineer- ing. Two intelligent young ladies round out the top five positions of rank on the academic rolls. An- gela Soup Campbell served as president of the Honor Society, and will also attend UCOnrt, and major in computer science and engineering. And last, but not least, Liz D'Amato plans to become a well-schooled travel and tourism spe- cialist at the Associated Schools. With what they've been able to achieve so far, we re sure these outstanding scholars will do what it takes to reach their academic goals.
