LOUIS PONZILLO Mr. Louis Ponzillo was born and reared in Waterbury, Connecticut. He graduated from Wilby High School and continued his education at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. He received his degree in History and Eng- lish from the School of Education. Presently, he is attending the University of Bridgeport in preparation for his Masters Degree. In addition to teaching Social Studies at Wilby, he teaches at DAYTOP INC., in the High School Equivalency Program and is a group leader in the Drug Seminar Course. In 1969, the Class of ’73 entered Wilby and so did Mr. Ponzillo. The relationship blossomed as the years passed and the rapport was such that his selection as the Junior Class Advisor was a natural one. To continue our success we re-elected him as the Senior Class Advisor. The Class of 73 pays TRIBUTE to you, Mr. Ponzillo for your conscientious help and inspiration given usdur- ini' iinr at ilh

Mr. Domenic Coviello The occasion seems rare, that we as students have the opportunity to be involved at the ‘beginning’ or to be participants in the ‘first’ of things to be — WOW! Our time has come and we are proud to be the class afforded the opportunity to honor Mr. Domenic Coveillo in his first year of principalship. Mr. Coviello, a native Waterburian, was educated locally and later matriculated at the University of Connecti- cut where he received the Bachelor of Science Degree. Continuing his education at the University of Hartford, he then earned two additional degrees — Master of Education and Sixth Year Certificate. While pursuing advanced degrees, Mr. Coviello was an instructor in Mathematics at the University of Connecticut for two years. He also held the responsibility of a Supervising Teacher in Education at the University and an instructor with the Upward Bound Program sponsored by the University of Hartford. Twice he has served as a member of the Evaluating Committee of New England. Mr. Coviello’s teaching experience also includes the town of East Haven, Connecticut, having terminated his employment there to return to Waterbury. For several years he was a teacher at Croft (now Kennedy High School) before coming to Wilby. Upon transferring, he left the classroom and assumed a new role in his career as a Guidance Counselor, a responsibility he held until June, 1969. In September, 1969, Mr. Coviello was appointed a Vice Principal. It ssemed he was well on his way to the goal he had set for himself. And so it was in September, 1972, he was appointed Principal. It is with joy that we the class of’73 dedicate our yearbook to you, Mr. Coviello! We join your wife, the former Joan Porzenheim, your daughters Martha, Beth, and Donna, your friends, the faculty and the students with a gi- gantic salute — your first graduating class as Principal of Wilby High School. 5
