JUDITH MARY BARNETT Judy” January 3, 1943 Jefferson Village Activities: Erskine Academy 2 yrs., Maine Basketball 1 yr., Athletic Club 2 yrs., Glee Club 1, 2, Nurses Club 2, Chemistry Club 4. One of our quieter seniors, Judy came to us from Maine in her junior year. She spends most of her leisure time reading. Judy’s plans after graduation are not definite yet, but whatever she intends to pursue we all wish her the very best of luck. SHIRLEY BARTOLUCCI Shirl” February 13, 1942 Washington Activities: Italian Club 1 year and St. Francis CYO 3 years. Shirl appears to be one of our quiet seniors, but her friends know better. She enjoys dancing, cooking, and read- ing. Her pet peeve is swinging doors. After graduation, Shirl’s ambition is to become a successful secretary. VINCENT BARQUERO Vinnie” February 28, 1942 Sprague Activities: St. Michael's CYO 1, 2, 3, 4. You can usually find Vinnie under the hood of a car because that is where he spends most of his leisure time. His future plans are not complete, but we are sure he will accomplish any task that he undertakes. RICHARD BARTKUS Richie” March 10, 1942 Memorial Activities: Accounting Club IV. If you see a tall boy walking non- chalantly down the halls, and greeting everyone with What can I tell ya?” that’s Richie. His plans for the future include an Air Force career. PATRICIA E. BASTA Pat July 5, 1942 Memorial Activities: 2 yr. Wilby, 1 yr. Croft, 1 yr. Crosby, Chess Club 2, 3, 4, Girls’ Basketball team 2, Spanish Club 3, 4, Balance Sheet 4, Pep Squad 4, Dramat- ics Club 4, Chemistry Club 4. It would be hard to find a better sport” than fun-loving, good-natured dependable Pat.” Her friendly manner has made her well-liked by everyone. Pat collects records and enjoys swim- ming, basketball, and just about every other sport. After graduation Pat plans to attend IBM School. The very best of luck to you Pat. LORRAINE BEAUDOIN Lori” October 2, 1942 St. Ann’s Activities: St. Ann’s CYO, St. Ann’s Children of Mary and Wilby Swim Teens 1 year. A pleasing personality and a spark- ling smile fit Lori to a tee: In her spare time she likes to skate, dance, read and bowl. Lori hopes to become an X-Ray Technician. Her favorite sub- ject is Study Halls, Inc. 13

LORETTA HOPE ATWOOD, Hopie” July 11, 1942 Washington Activities: Inter-City High School Band 1. 2, 3, 4, Member of the Girl Scouts 10 years, United Fund worker, Member of Class Book Staff. Hopie’s interests include dancing, reading, and participating in out-door sports. She feels that she has gained a great deal of valuable knowledge at Wilby. After graduation, Hopie plans to become a telephone operator. Her pet peeve” is Naggers. RONALD T. AURIO Ronnie” March 7, 1941 St. Margaret’s Activities: Member of Hi-Y at the Y.M.C.A. 1, 2, CYO 1, 2. Ronnies main interest is tinkering with cars. After graduation, he has decided to enter the Army. His pet peeve” is woman drivers who do not know how to use the signal lights. Ronnie’s favorite subject is U.S. History. FRANK CHARLES BACHMAN, JR. Buddy” May 21, 1942 Frisbie Activities: Football Team, Chemistry Club IV, Dramatics Club IV, Class Book Staff IV, C.Y.O. Basketball. Frank is a very quiet, but alert person. He participates in a number of sports, and is good in the majority of them. Frank is one of Wilby’s most courteous boys. ANTHONY JAMES BARBIERI Tony” April 14, 1942 Hendricken Activities: Member of second year Italian Club. Sometimes serious and sometimes happy-go-lucky can best describe Tony. He has no particular hobbies, but he enjoys many. His plans after graduation are undecided, but whatever they are we know he will succeed. ALAN BRUCE BARKER Al” September 1, 1942 Memorial Activities: Band, Projectionist Club. Al is one of Wilby’s quieter boys. He enjoys skiing and joy-riding.” Al plans to go to college after graduation. ROBERT W. BAILEY Beetle” February 1, 1943 Memorial Activities: Chemistry Club, Projection Club, Ski Club Nava, U.S. Eastern Amateur Ski Assoc., Pilgrim Fellow- ship, Dramatics Club. Beetle” is a good-natured, fun-loving fellow who enjoys skin diving and ski- ing. He’d probably spend all his time skiing if he could. After graduation Beetle” plans to attend college. LYDIA BERADI Lyd” April 17, 1942 Duggan Activities: Italian Club 1 year, member of Y.W.C.A. 3 years, Bowling League 1 year and St. Ann’s CYO 1 year. Lyd is a quiet girl with a pleasant disposition. She can be found bowling or playing cards. Lyd’s future plans are to become a secretary. WILLIAM BERCIER Willie” February 19, 1942 Prospect Activities: Chess Club, Dramatic Club, C.Y.O., School Band. Always dodging excuses for absence, Willie would do better as a defense attorney, than an automobile mechanic. His favorite saying is how doing?” Hobbies: cars. CHARLES BIRENBAUM Chuck” May 12, 1942 Kingsbury Activities: Soccer team 5 years, Golf Club 2 years, Basketball team 1 year, Room Representative 2 years and Soft- ball team 1 yr. Chuck is one of Wilby’s happy-go- lucky and carefree boys. His hobbies are baseball, golf and cars. Chuck plans to attend Business College. His pet peeve is homework. WINIFRED BLANCHARD Wendy” November 28, 1942 Slocum Activities: Secretary of AME Zion group of the Y.W.C.A., Spanish Club 1 year and President of the Hartford District Youth Group of AME Zion. Wendy has a pleasant personality and winning smile. She likes to play the piano for relaxation. After graduation Wendy plans to attend Livingston Col- lege. 14 PHILOMENA BERNARDI November 11, 1942 Duggan Activities: Italian Club I year, Member of Wilby Swim Teens 1 year and St. Patrick’s CYO 4 years. Friendly, sweet, and nice to know describes Philomena. Her goal is to become an X-Ray Technician and we are sure she will achieve that goal. Philomena enjoys ice skating, bowling and swimming. ELAINE BOBINSKI E” December 21, 1942 Prospect Activities: St. Anthony’s CYO, Dra- matics Club 4. Elaine is one of our quieter Wilby girls, but pleasant to talk with. E.” spends much of her leisure time horse- back riding and ice-skating. Her ambi- tion is to become a medical secretary. Good luck to you Elaine.
