Spare time she spends in ice-skating, bowling, swimming, sewing, and working for the C.Y.O. Terry hopes to be a teacher; with her fondness for children she should make a good one. ARMAND CALABRO Yogi October 3, 1936 Walsh Band 2,3, 4; Italian Club 3, 4 Yogi, as he is best known, is a quiet but friendly fellow. When he isn't manag- ing the basketball team, he can be found playing baseball and football. Work in an office Yogi has chosen for his career. MARGARET JESSIE CAMERON Margie July 27, 1936 Hopeville Bowling League 1, 3; Accounting Club 3 With her sincere and likable traits, Margie has won many friends during her years at Wilby. Along with bowling and swimming, she also enjoys ice skating. With her efficiency, she should succeed as a private secretary. JOSEPH CHARLES CANTONI Joe June 1, 1936 Hopeville Projectionists Club 1, 2, 3, 4; Italian Club 3, 4; D.E. Club 4 Boating, hunting, fishing, and target practice occupy the big tease's leisure time. His plans for the future are to set up a business of his own. Here's to seeing Joe as a big executive in 1965. JEAN CAREW JEANNIE May 14, 1936 Chase Latin Club 2; Class Secretary 4; Classbook Jeannie's sweet personality and smile have gained her the friendship of many Wilbyites. Her dependability and efficiency led to her being chosen secretary of the senior class. Besides swimming and bowling, she participates in many other activities. With her fine record at Wilby, Jeannie is headed toward her goal, private secretary. 15

RICHARD ROBERT BRILSKY Dick March 10, 1935 Alcott Bowling Club 3 Gentlemanly and somewhat shy, Dick came to us from grammar school in Wol- cott. He enjoys movies, music, and dancing, as well as following sports, es- pecially the Wilby State Basketball Champions of 1953. Dick wants to go into business as a commercial artist. ARLENE WINIFRED BROWN Lene January 3, 1936 Walsh Glee Club 1 Singing, cooking, taking care of children—these are the things Arlene likes. She should find enjoyment in her chosen field, nursing. RICHARD JAMES BROWN Dick November 27, 19.35 Sacred Heart High School D. E. Club 4 Someday in the center of town there may be in colored lights Dick's Res- taurant,” owned and managed by a good-natured and fun-loving fellow. Dick also has other interests, such as playing football and basketball and working on cars. Whatever field he chooses, we all wish him success. WALLACE LEE BROWN Wally December 11, 1935 Terryville High Football This football player claims that the greatest good he has gained from Wilby, besides education, is that of good sportsmanship. December 27, 1936 ANTHONY BUONAUTO Tony Russell Public Speaking Club 3; Football 4 Coming to us from Russell Grammar School, Tony has made many friends during his years at Wilby. He spends much of his time playing football, bas- ketball, and baseball. Tony plans to become a certified public accountant. 14

HELEN CHRISTINE CARLSON Chris March 17, 1936 Bunker Hill Latin Club 2; President Junior Red Cross 3 Chairman of Volunteers Jr. Red Cross 4; Spanish Club 4; Chemistry Club 4 With a twinkle in her eye, a friendly smile, and good humor, Chris has won many hearts at Wilby. She can sew and skate skillfully. With her sincere friendliness and desire to aid others, she has a sure ticket to success as a woman in white. MELODY ROSALIE CARLSON Mel February 19,1936 Barnard Swimming Club 1; Dance Club 1, 2 Working in the cafe has been Mel’s duty for three years in Wilby. An ardent sports fan, she enjoys horseback riding, swimming, and ice skating. Her great fondness for animals, should help her to go places” as a veterinarian. THERESA ANN CARPENTIER Terry April 20,1936 Woodrow Wilson Latin Club 2; Dance Club 1; Italian Club 4; Chemistry Club 4 Vim and vigor are her characteristics. She is a whiz at bowling and drawing and has saved many a Wilby student by patching up his art work. Tiny as she is, Terry gets things done. In later years she will be found scurrying up and down St. Mary’s corridors administering to her patients, who will certainly love her. SHIRLEY ANN CHAPMAN Shirl September 23, 1936 Prospect Community Red Cross Rep. 3, 4; Spanish Club 4 A ready smile and a good nature make up Shirks personality. Painting, sketch- ing, walking, ice skating, and swimming take up most of her spare time. Her future includes a career as secretary, where we feel that she can’t miss. MARLENE ANN CHURCHILL Church May 8, 1935 Naugatuck High Marlene came to Wilby in her sophomore year. Her warm Texas smile has won her many friends here. Although Church is interested in art, she plans some day to be a model. 16
