If you see a girl walking down the halls of Wilby with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes, it's none other than Dee.” Her cheerful smile has won her many friends during her four years at Wilby. Dee’s” special interests are dancing, bowling, skating, popular music, and sports especially games played by the Red Sox. Her ambition is to be a private secretary. Rusty is friendly, good-natured, and attractive. When she’s not in school, you’ll find her twirling a baton, which is one of her favorite pastimes. ANN MARIE BRIODY Annie January 21,1935 St. Francis Xavier Activities: Vocational Orientation. ' Annie” is one of the quiet girls in Wilby, but don't let her fool you. She has gained many friends during her four years. Her hobbies include ice skating, swimming, tennis, and bowling. Leavenworth lost a valuable student when Bookie” came to Wilby. Ath- letically inclined, he is one of our best baseball players. Baseball and popular music are his special interests. We wish him luck in his ambition to be an Air Force Pilot. MARILYN JOYCE BURGHOFF May 6, 1935 Bunker Hill Activities: Spanish Club, Feature Editor of La Voz,” Secretarial Club, Class Book Committee, Bunker Hill School Secretary. RONALD JOSEPH CIASULLO Ronnie” January 14, 1936 Woodrow Wilson Activities: Orchestra, School Band, and Distributive Education Club. Whenever there is a band playing in the auditorium for the pleasure of the students, or playing at a Wilby game to help the cheering, you are sure to find Ronnie tooting enthusiastically on his trumpet. As you can well im- agine, his special interest is in music. His other interests include hunting and fishing. We know for certain that there will always be a place in the music world for such a good player. Ronnie” has more than half-way succeeded in his ambition to become a musician. Curley” has made his presence known at Wilby by his agreeable per- sonality and good humor. He has probably made you laugh at his funny car- toons. Roger wishes to go into business after graduation. MAFALDA ANN COLELLA Muffy January 14, 1936 Webster Activities: Dance Club, Secretarial Club, Distributive Education Club. A typical Wilbyite, Muffy wishes to become a secretary. Included among her many interests are dancing, popular music, and working in the C.Y.O. His main interest, like most boys, is sports. Mare, one of Wilby's cutest girls, has a very friendly disposition, which has made her many friends here. Her main interests are collecting photographs of movie stars, dancing, and listening to popular music. Mare’s” ambition in life is to be a secretary, and we know she will be an asset in any office. As part of the course, members make an annual visit to the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. In the picture above, Senior Wilbyites include Christine Lerz, Shirley Banno, Shirley Morin, and Ronald Ciasullo. 71 CLASS PLAY On the night of June 10th, Wilby's auditorium rocked with laughter at the antics of a family portrayed in the presentation of the class play, We Shook the Family Tree. Under the capable direction of Vice-Principal, Ambrose G. Egan, the cast interpreted their parts to perfection. Joan Wakelee played Hildegarde, the eighteen-year-old daughter; Ronald Bucari was her father, Mr. Dolson; Anne Rassmussen was her mother, Mrs. Dolson; the younger members of the Dolson family included Sally, Bob, and Jimmy—played by Dolores DiNicola, Leslie Langlois, and Robert Grew respectively. Other parts in the play were interpreted by Helen Spataro as a ten-year-old girl, Paige Mason; Marilyn Burghoff as Ellie-May, Bob's heart throb; Gloria Queiroga as Jill, Ellie-May's younger friend. James Sullivan had the role of Freddie Shermer, Hildegarde's Romeo who always wore knickers. Dora Gardiner and Arthur Charkowsky played Mr. and Mrs. Shermer, the next-door neighbors. 72 THE PROJECTIONISTS’ CLUB The Projectionists’ Club, under the guidance of Mr. Craig, has developed into one of the largest clubs in Wilby, although organized for only a few years.
