The 1984-85 school year has come to a close. With the ending of the school year there comes a flood of memories of the friends, the good times shared, and even the bad times that we have had together. The Seniors have had a good year with all the birthday parties, the ball games, and graduation. Senior Ingrid Raunikar entered a project in the State Science Fair. Tina Slater and Terry Holman received a Superior (I) rating at the State Vocal Music Contest. Marianne Hartigan won the State Speech Championship in Original Oratory and placed in the top 20 of the more than 1300 entries in the Fron- tiers of Science Foundation Essay Contest. This is' a year that we will never forget. Juniors and Sophomores also have their memories of this year for many of the same reasons, but they are still looking forward to more high school years to come. Leaving WHS with this year's Seniors are three retiring teachers - Mrs. Rus- sell from the Third Grade, Mrs. Soko- losky from the First Grade, and Mrs. Quaid from High School English. The 1985 Senior Class made Mrs. Quaid an honorary member, presenting her with a diploma, a graduation cap, and a plaque on which was engraved a line of Robert Frost poetry that she had required us to learn when we were in her class. There are many good people leaving WHS this year, but as we go we know there will be others to fill our places and keep the good traditions going. Valerie Collums, Editor 1984-85 DIGGER
